Ethiopia, like many parts of Africa, is affected by a serious "brain drain" of skilled professionals who have left the country. CUSO-VSO, VSO Ethiopia, AHEAD, and ABIDE are working together to implement a diaspora volunteering initiative that aims to contribute to a "brain gain" within Ethiopia. Tinebeb Berhane is the Diaspora Program Manager for VSO Ethiopia; listen to her discuss this exciting program. Visit: http://www.cuso-vso.org/volunteer/diaspora/ to learn more.

At Cuso International, we believe we are changing the world, one volunteer at a time. That’s because volunteering can be transforming for both the overseas community and volunteer. Each year, we send hundreds of global citizens to work on collaborative development projects in more than 40 countries around the world. The views expressed in these podcasts do not necessarily reflect the views of Cuso International or its supporters. About Jessica Dubelaar

I'm a Public Engagement Officer with Cuso International based out of Toronto, ON. I joined Cuso International after five years working with NGO coalitions in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. Through my own work overseas in Ghana and Nigeria I've experienced first-hand how transformational international volunteerism can be.
