Great post. This podcast came at the perfect time. I am about to embark on an exciting journey across Central & South America. I was born in Guyana but regretfully I have not seen much of the country – something I plan to change. I will be entering Guyana around October and I would love to get involved in your volunteering project in any way that I can. I am not a certified teacher but I love teaching and I have tutored at the elementary, secondary and university levels. Perhaps my skill set can be used in another ways to promote education and literacy in Region 1. I would like to suggest something post for your blog. If you are unable to do it now, I will also be doing it when I am there. Consider doing a video – “A day in the life of a student in Region 1”. I think that footage of the terrain, transportation, facilities and schools would make and excellent post. Keep up to the great work. October.
